Range Rover Electric Launched: 550PS, 372-Mile Range, Orders Open
The first-ever electric Range Rover arrives with twin 260kW motors, 118.5kWh battery, and 800V architecture. Here's everything confirmed about specs, variants, and pricing.

Range Rover has formally launched its first all-electric model, and the headline numbers are exactly what you’d expect from a brand that has never compromised on capability or luxury. The Range Rover Electric produces 550PS and 850Nm of torque from twin permanent magnet motors - more torque than any Range Rover built before it - and returns a claimed WLTP range of 372 miles on a single charge. Orders are open globally right now, with UK pricing starting at £154,070 OTR for the standard wheelbase.
This is not a compliance EV or a Range Rover with a battery slotted in as an afterthought. JLR has spent a decade engineering this platform specifically for electric propulsion, filing over 300 patent applications in the process - the most for any single vehicle in the brand’s history. The result sits alongside mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and ICE variants on the same Solihull-built architecture, confirming that Range Rover’s flexible propulsion strategy is production-ready rather than aspirational.
Powertrain and Battery: The Core Numbers
Twin 260kW motors - one per axle - generate 550PS and 850Nm combined. JLR says the motors produce 20% more torque than others of equivalent size, enabled by silicon carbide semiconductors that switch in microseconds for sharper efficiency and throttle response. The 0–60mph sprint takes 4.3 seconds, and the more practically useful 50–75mph overtaking pull is done in 2.7 seconds - meaningful for real-world highway use.
The battery is a 118.5kWh double-stacked lithium-ion unit using 344 prismatic cells. The 800-volt architecture enables split-charging, which means you can charge two circuits simultaneously when available infrastructure supports it. On the fastest 350kW DC rapid chargers, the battery goes from 10–80% in around 22 minutes, or adds 220km of range in just 10 minutes. For daily users, the claimed WLTP real-world range sits at 333 miles - making most commutes, including longer intercity runs, achievable without a mid-journey stop.
JLR’s ThermAssist heat management system actively governs battery temperature across cold and hot climates, adding up to 25 miles of range in adverse conditions and cutting heating energy consumption by 40%. Every battery cell is individually performance-tested before assembly, and each vehicle comes with a Battery Digital Twin - over 900 diagnostic data points - alongside an eight-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Traction, Capability, and the All-Terrain Benchmark
Range Rover’s off-road credibility is the non-negotiable for buyers spending at this level, and the Electric doesn’t soften that proposition. The Integrated Traction Management system responds within 50 milliseconds - 100 times faster than a combustion equivalent - allowing it to manage wheel slip before most drivers register any loss of grip. Wading depth remains at 900mm, identical to current ICE Range Rovers.
Intelligent Driveline Dynamics distributes rear torque continuously between 0 and 100%, and the new Single Pedal mode is engineered to allow smooth controlled crawls up slopes of 33 degrees (comparable to a black-diamond ski run) and sustained climbs up to 45 degrees. The lower centre of gravity from the double-stacked underfloor battery combines with twin-chamber air suspension to improve high-speed stability over the combustion models.
JLR accumulated over 1.5 million kilometres and 250,000 hours of physical and virtual testing - including -40°C winter trials in Sweden and desert testing in Dubai - making this the most extensively developed Range Rover in the brand’s history.
Design: Recognisably Range Rover
Range Rover has held the position of “Electric second, Range Rover first” throughout development, and the exterior reflects that. The silhouette, roofline, and proportions are unmistakably consistent with the current generation. The changes required for aerodynamic efficiency - an optimised grille, aerodynamically profiled wheel designs, and a tailored underbody - are integrated subtly rather than used as visual differentiators.
The First Edition is available in three exclusive colours: Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, and Varesine Blue, paired with a newly introduced Light Cloud Ultrafabrics PU and Kvadrat interior - the brand’s first formal pairing of these sustainable material options as a production configuration.
Connectivity and Charging Network
The new Range Rover app allows owners to pre-condition the cabin, monitor charge status and live location, schedule charging windows to take advantage of off-peak tariffs, and activate the heated steering wheel remotely. In the UK and Europe, the vehicle connects to a network of over one million public chargers. North American buyers get native NACS compatibility, unlocking access to Tesla’s Supercharger network without an adaptor.
Variants, Specifications, and Pricing
Range Rover Electric is available in standard and long-wheelbase body configurations across SE, HSE, and Autobiography trim levels, as well as SV, SV Ultra, and SV Black specifications. The curated First Edition is also available to order now.

All models are manufactured at JLR’s Solihull plant. Electric drive units and battery packs are produced at the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton.
Should You Wait for the India Launch?
Range Rover Electric is currently confirmed for order in the UK. Indian pricing, import timelines, and homologation are not yet announced by JLR India. Given the CBU import route that Range Rover typically follows in India and the current EV import duty structure, the India ex-showroom price - when it arrives - will almost certainly land north of ₹3 crore. For serious buyers, registering interest with an authorised Land Rover dealership now makes sense: allocation queues for launches at this price point tend to fill up quickly once confirmed.
