Honda has sold over 8 lakh ZR-Vs globally since 2022. India is only getting it now. Better late than never — because on paper, this is one of the more interesting hybrid SUVs to land in the country in a while.
The ZR-V is Honda’s new flagship SUV for India, and it’s coming in as a Completely Built Unit imported from Japan. That alone tells you where Honda is positioning this — not against the Creta, but above it.
The design is properly assertive. Vertical-slat glossy black front grille, sharp slim headlamps, sequential LED turn signals, 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, and a body that manages to look wide and purposeful without being overdone. It measures 4,567 mm long with a 2,655 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is high, the stance is confident, and the dual exhaust finisher caps it off at the rear.

Inside, it’s all-black sporty with premium stitch accents and soft-touch materials throughout. The dashboard is wide and horizontal — gives it an airy, spacious feel. You get a 9-inch floating touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, wireless charging, and dual-zone climate control. The 8-way power-adjustable driver seat has one-touch memory linked to your smart key fob. The front passenger gets 4-way power adjustment.
Ambient lighting runs through the front and rear doors, footwells, roof, and centre console. It’s the kind of cabin detail that makes a car feel expensive even after the initial wow wears off.

The powertrain is the real story.
Honda’s 2.0L e:HEV Sports Hybrid — a direct injection Atkinson-cycle engine paired with a dual-motor hybrid system. Combined output: 184 PS at 5,000–6,000 rpm and 315 Nm from zero to 2,000 rpm. Fuel efficiency: 22.79 km/l. The system switches between electric, hybrid, and engine drive modes automatically. You also get Normal, Sport, and Eco driving modes to choose from, plus regenerative braking paddles on the steering wheel.
For a car that weighs what a proper SUV weighs, those numbers are impressive. The torque delivery from zero rpm is what’ll get you — it drives more like an electric car in city conditions than a traditional petrol SUV.

Cargo space is up to 1,313 litres with the rear seats folded flat. The boot opening is wide and low, the floor is flat, and there’s under-floor storage too. 60:40 split folding rear seats round it out for practicality.
Safety spec is comprehensive: Honda SENSING with collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, 8 airbags, 360-degree surround camera, hill descent control, driver attention monitor, and an ACE body structure. It’s not a list that leaves obvious gaps.
Bookings are open now at Honda dealerships. Deliveries start July 2026. Four colours available: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Crystal Black Pearl.
Pricing hasn’t been officially announced yet. Given the CBU import status and the positioning, expect it to sit north of ₹25 lakh ex-showroom — but Honda hasn’t confirmed numbers as of launch day.
Honda backs the ZR-V with a 3-year unlimited km warranty extensible to 7 years, an 8-year/1,60,000 km battery warranty, and a 5-year/1,00,000 km warranty on hybrid system components.
