Honda didn’t reinvent the City. They didn’t need to. What they did was sharpen it - and that word, sharpen, is exactly how Honda describes this update themselves.
The front is the biggest visual change. New Blade Eye LED headlamps, a connected centre light bar, and a matrix-mesh grille give the City a face that actually looks like it belongs in 2026. The rear gets Z-Edge wrap LED tail lamps and a trunk lip spoiler. It’s not dramatic, but it’s cleaner and more confident than before.
The car is now 4,594 mm long - 11 mm more than the previous model - making it the longest sedan in its segment. That’s not a number most buyers will notice, but the aerodynamic silhouette that comes with it? You notice that.
Inside, there’s a new 10.1-inch floating touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and USB-C ports front and rear. The ivory and black two-tone interior with dark iron 3D pattern garnish looks genuinely premium - not just “premium for the segment.”
Honda SENSING ADAS comes standard: collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, auto high-beam, and lead car departure notification. The e:HEV additionally gets adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.
Two engines. Clear choice.
The petrol 1.5L i-VTEC makes 121 PS and comes with either a 6-speed MT or 7-speed CVT. Fuel efficiency is around 17.8–18 km/l. It’s a known, proven setup - nothing surprising here.
The e:HEV strong hybrid is the one worth paying attention to. Two motors, 126 PS combined, 253 Nm from zero, and 27.26 km/l on the fuel efficiency chart. Honda’s self-charging hybrid system switches between EV, hybrid, and engine modes without you doing anything. In a city like Delhi or Bengaluru, you’ll spend a lot of time in EV mode without even trying.

The hybrid sits at ₹21 lakh ex-showroom. That’s a significant ask for a sedan. But the running costs change the math quickly, especially for high-mileage urban drivers. Honda backs it with an 8-year/1,60,000 km battery warranty and a new 5-year/1,00,000 km warranty on hybrid system components.
