Nissan has launched the Tekton in India, and deliveries have already begun. Prices start at ₹10.49 lakh ex-showroom, putting it squarely in the fight against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara.
The Tekton shares its platform with the Renault Duster - a foundation that’s already proven itself in India. The design, however, takes a different direction, drawing inspiration from the Nissan Patrol. Up front, it gets an upright fascia with a full-width LED light bar, C-shaped LED DRLs, and a double chrome strip across the grille. The rear is cleaner, with connected LED tail lamps, chunky bumper with a silver insert, and ‘Tekton’ lettering on the tailgate. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and the door handles sit on the C-pillars - a design detail that makes the rear doors feel more premium.
Inside, the dual-tone light grey and burgundy interior with rose gold trim is a distinctive choice that stands out in this segment. Features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, and 6-way adjustable ventilated front seats. Safety covers 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. The Tekton has also earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, scoring 30.49/32 for adult occupant protection.
Engine & Transmission Options
The base 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo-petrol makes 99 BHP and 166 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual. The stronger 1.3L 4-cylinder turbo-petrol produces 161 BHP and 280 Nm - available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT automatic.
